About Us

TRAIN AS A TEACHER AND CHANGE MORE THAN JUST YOUR LIFE!

The 2Schools Consortium has accredited status, which enables us to provide Initial Teacher Training via the School Direct (salaried) and SCITT Programme. We award QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).

The 2Schools Consortium consists of a lead school, Oakthorpe Primary School, Enfield, and a number of partnership schools where trainees are placed.

I think the PgTA course is such a fantastic foundation for prospective teachers offering a comprehensive programme that is both challenging and supportive. Steve Lee, Deputy Headteacher, Dollis Primary School

‘We have worked with 2Schools Consortium for a number of years and have been part of the recruitment process at all levels; we have put our own staff forward, have interviewed students to train and recruited students who have completed their training elsewhere.  We very much value the relationship that has been established and the support we receive.  Our experience of the postgraduate teaching  apprenticeship has been very good and we have been able to employ a number of amazing teachers. Helen Thomas. Headteacher, Alma Primary School

Absolutely couldn’t put into words how effective it has been for us. Every year we employ our trainees so in my 5 years of headship, I have never put an advert out for a teaching vacancy.
Christalla Jamil, Head teacher, Eastfield Primary School, June 2018

I’ve had such an amazing experience. It has really been worthwhile. Lesley Iwuoha, Trainee Teacher 2017-18 and NQT 2018 at Starksfield Primary School

It has been amazing working with you all, you have been so supportive. It has been an amazing journey, I have become who I have because of the people and support around me. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to train as a teacher. Mahbuba Poptani, Trainee teacher 2018.19 at Churchfield Primary School

Oakthorpe has been successfully involved in teacher training since 2002 and has a wealth of experience in mentoring trainees and in delivering training.

All trainees on the 2Schools Consortium School Direct Salaried and SCITT Programme are expected to attend the training sessions and attempt to fulfil the expectations and requirements of the PGCE (Primary Education) award, which will be validated by the University of Brighton.

In completing the programme, successful submission of the two level 7 modules will lead to the award of Postgraduate Certificate of Education, carrying 60 level 7 credits.
